I've got a question: Do you dock your Steam Deck? And if so, what dock do you use? I'm thinking of getting one and using it more like a Switch. But just unsure about the docking part.
Thank you! Well I just use the anker dongle to “dock” it. It has a power supply throughout and hdmi port.
The main issue with that though is the air in take, so I try and prop it up to make sure the vents are not obstructed. I attach it to the TV so rarely that this works well enough for those times :)
Great recommendations! There is a whole world of accessories for the Deck, certainly easy to get lost amongst them all. I would recommend a screen protector too, and if you're not charging while using it (as they come out easier), I'd also recommend a magnetic USB charger adapter - especially if you dock the thing at some point. These ports are quite easily damaged and if you're using the device while out and about it stops any dirt and dust clogging it up. :)
I was hesitant at first - I was sure it would look rubbish, but apart from the bit of damage it itself has sustained, I can't tell it's on there (and I'm glad it was now haha).
I've been thinking about getting a keyboard, so this is a good recommendation for me. I'm still not a fan of skins, but it does look pretty nice. And I got the same battery! It's a good one.
I know it got a little backpack my wife gave me as a gift. The main idea is that I'll always put it inside the little backpack, and NOT leave it in the bathroom of an airport.
Glad you like the keyboard. I was a bit on the fence as foldable things tend to feel a bit rickety but this one seems quite decent and stable when folded. And it was so easy to pair with any device and connects very quickly for me.
I like your wife’s thinking! 😂 I guess she knows you too well. Haha. Which backpack are you usin?

Thanks for the recs! These are really nice and close what I use for my steam deck too! I also struggled with applying the skin, but it doesn't really bother me anymore after about two years haha.
I am super curious about the tomtoc case though. I've been eyeing it for a while but I was not sure how good it actually is. I might actually get it after reading your review. I am kinda tired of carrying the bulky case around 🥲
Thanks for reading them. 🥰 I must say I took the bulky case once and then was like “nope, there must be a comfier way. 🤷🏻♀️🙈”. It does look like the 1TB version has a slimmer case to take out of the bulky one but I have the 512gb so needed to look at other options. I really like the case. They often have give aways too so maybe see if you can score one. That’s how I got my switch case from them. :)
One day when I'm grown up, I'll get a Steam Deck!
:D to be fair I am way into “adulthood” and finally got a switch two years ago too. lol
Yeah, several of my friends have Switch consoles. But I’m more keen towards a Steam Deck or getting one for the Windows knock-offs.
Great article!

“Through put”
The keyboard looks like a device that I would connect to a cyberdeck. Very nice. :)

Oh I hadn’t thought about a magnetic charge adapter! That’s a nice tip thank you.
I toyed with a screen protector and they are definitely valuable and can save one a lot of headache.

I used to have them on my phone and it did save me a lot of money when the day did come and I dropped it. Thanks for reminding me. 😅🎉
Haha well I hope you never actually *need* one! Keep a tight grip!
Great write up! I’m still thinking seriously about getting the steam deck.
