A friend got me this for Christmas, and I played it through solidly, casting aside Baldur's Gate 3 quite happily.
It's a remarkable little thing: never especially difficult, but a really beautiful piece of wordless storytelling with exquisite use of sound and visuals. I love that they fully commit to the side-on camera angle and never break that framing, only ever pushing in and out.
As an exercise in mood and atmosphere, it's really quite phenomenal.
I hadn’t appreciate the side on camera angle commitment and how that’s actually a nice feat. It’s such a great little and simple game, which is actually hard. Simple doesn’t mean easy to create.
This looks perfect for the deck! Will be adding it to the infinite wishlist! Is it pixel art or painterly? Can't quite tell - but it looks beautiful either way!
Also, I must say, your posts are so efficient and easy to read (bit jealous because I'm a massive word count bloating rambler in my posts haha).
It runs great on Deck, even on max setting at 2K on a TV. It's very much 3D and painterly, with VERY precise attention to colour and lighting. Gorgeous thing.
Awesome! Can’t wait to read what you think. I had a comparison chat with my other half after he played it and it was fun to compare notes. :) I hope you like it.

That’s a perfect summary. 🎉 💚

Great review! I loved this game. A fantastic example of a cinematic sidescroller.
Thank you! I like that term “cinematic side scroller”. I hope I can use it another time again! 🎉

Thank you. I worry sometimes That they are too short. 😅 The next one is very short too as it’s a very short game. Haha.
This is more painterly than pixel. It’s stunning to be honest and perfect on steamdeck or switch. My partner played it docked on the switch.
It wasn’t very long and easy to dip in and out of. ☺️
Yes! It’s on my list. I’m going to review it next month so great to hear you liked it. Nice review.
