My personal, spoiler free review of this beautifully intricate pixel art game with religious themes, initially brutal difficulty yet compelling story that kept me coming back to it.
Thank you, I would say that actually blasphemous 2 is more enjoyable. And doesn’t have as much of a steep difficulty curve so I would suggest playing 2. :)
I bought the switch when it first came out and I love it except for certain games that really need more speed. For instance, I LOVE Super Smash Bros. But I hated it on the Switch screen. It really sucked. The characters would blend together and I couldn’t tell what was going on! Also certain games, it seemed the aim was off for shooting. I got really frustrated. So now I stick to RPGs and cozy games for the Switch. But I’ve been wanting a Steamdeck for a few years now. 😊😊
Oh I love the steam deck. It properly made me fall in love with gaming again. I’m not sure why the switch didn’t do that last year but this year I’ve played over 40 games (mostly indies) and I take it everywhere.
I think it’s maybe like the nostalgia element of taking my gameboy everywhere and playing it whenever we were travelling or waiting for anything. 😅 I find it so much more comfortable to hold than the switch as well which might be why I love it. What’s your go to gaming platform?
I just recently sold my DS, my Wii, PSP and all the games. Got lots of $$ for it. It was hard to let them go. My daughters have played with me since they were babies. My oldest has loved RPG’s and sims since she was 5! Her favorite Nintendo game is Earthbound. She still plays it!!! And the. I had 3 nephews who were at my house all the time and we were always gaming. I’m the cool Aunt. 😂😂😂😂
You sound like the best aunt! 🎉💚 I’m aspiring to such levels of awesomeness. It’s hard to let go of these things but there are people who will love them still out there. I had a few old game boy games I recently sold as well. I didn’t have a console that could play them anymore.
Yay for inspiring kids to play video games all around. :)
Echo!!! I loved that game! It was ahead of its time. Good for you! ( you are giving me all kinds of nostalgia feelings) A few years ago I gave my Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Game Gear, 3dO and all of the games to my gamer daughter. Pretty sure she has Echo
Aw I love that. Sharing the love of gaming like that with your family and different generations. My friend has two young girls and we have been playing old Atari games with them. 😅 SNES will probably be next. I was sad that my goddaughter did not want my Nintendo DS because she wanted a PlayStation 4. Haha. I think the nostalgia element is also why I love pixel art 2D side scrollers a lot. 😅
Yes the further I get in 2, the more I feel like the first one makes a great demo to test the waters and then 2 smashes it out of the park. I am really enjoying the gameplay a lot in 2. I hope the story ends well as well. fingers crossed
Nice review. I want to play this, but the difficulty seems a bit heavy.

Great article! And Altered Beasts? I haven’t seen that pic in a long time!! 😊😊

Yeah time flies 😂😅 I recently finally completed echo the dolphin after memorising the final password for over 30 years 🙈
Jeez I haven’t played that game in like 30-35 years now.
Thank you. I actually never got very far in altered beasts. May have to look into playing it again 😅
Agree with all of this - I think it's a great game but has limitations. I picked up 2 and heard it's a wonderful improvement on the 1st.
