Love seeing Avowed shouted out! It's absolutely been a blast and so blissful to explore every corner of the map. I believe it didn't get the grace and actual play it deserves due to initial reviews! Definitely a top game of the year for me too :')

It’s really nice and I have seen they have been adding some nice features in their updates so I’ll probably pick it up again at the end of the summer to get a different ending. It felt like they really nailed RPG fun to me.

You popped up in my feed and I love this idea. I've been a psn subscriber since the ps3 days, so I have SO MANY "free" games urge collected (I've got a PS5 now) and sometimes the fear of starting one I know I'll never 100% keeps me from actually beginning it. Or the paradox of choice causes me to go back to something I actually started, even if I don't actually like it that much. Oof, the conundrums of privilege of video games spanning decades, right? 😁

Yes the fear is real. Or the fear of starting the wrong one!? I’m trying to just be ok with putting things down again and not worrying too much but there is only so much time so need to play the right games 🤣😅

I'm always adding free games even though I know I won't play some of them. I just never know when I might get a hankering to try it out. There are some free games that just can't put them down when I get started. The most recent example of that is Blue Prince, which is free with Playstation Plus. I'm not usually a fan of puzzle games, but this one has become my new obsession.

I mainly 100% story-based games, but when it comes to any other genre of game, I just play it until I beat it then I move on to the next. This year, so far, I've beaten 10 out of 15 and I've 100% four of them. And that doesn't include all the games that are on my wishlist.

That sounds like great progress and I like the approach of 100% your favourite genre. 🎉

I am yet to try the subscription services. They have had some great games on them. Blue Prince is meant to be really good. I have watched some let’s plays and it does look addictive!

I don't add free games, however, if a game that's already on the wishlist becomes free (via psn in my case, we get a couple of free games a month) then it does get a bump, so I'm playing yakuza like a dragon at the moment 😅

It's always hard to decide what to play next! Yakuza is my mainstay right now, but I'm also playing Wilmot works it out on steamdeck for a more chill time. I'd really like to be more methodical about it and work my way down the list in order but other more interesting looking games always butt in 😂

It’s always a balance of what’s available and suddenly free and also how I might feel so I understand. I have these weird thoughts of doing a month of only cat related games (I have a few) or only dystopian related, or only pixel art or something. To force me to have a theme for a few weeks. I might try that in June :)

I am also guilty of snapping up all of the free games, mostly on Epic each week. I even take the one's I know I am 100% not going to play.

Heck, I can't even actually play any of them as I'm on Mac and 99.9% of them are PC only.

It's a sickness at this point, but I don't want to miss out! 😆

I am the same. If it is Thursday evening and I haven't claimed the EPIC games I will log on to claim them on the Thursday. :D

I have already completed nine games this year, so I guess I won't beat my record of 45 games completed in one year.

I also use How Long To Beat. I have an enormous Notion database where I collect all sorts of metadata on the games I have and want to have only to create new views and prioritize what I play next :D

I love that! I did wonder what to use notion for. 🤣 this sounds the right amount of data stats for me! I might have to give that a go as well.

Yeah I guess last year I played a lot of 3-5 hours long indies and that then creates a nice dent in the backlog. Most games left are 10-20 hours or in the 60-100 now so I need to pace myself. 😆

Have you written about your Notions database and how you use it? Would be interesting to see for a data nerd like me ☺️

Four score and several years ago, I did... But this system constantly evolves.

For some reason, it's marked as paid...
